This page contains the detailed pre and post care information for the treatments offered at MizHitch Makeup & Beauty.

For your safety it is important that you please read the instructions for your relevant treatment carefully. We reserve the right to refuse treatment on the day based on your compliance with these instructions detailed here. If you are refused treatment, appointments will be rescheduled for a later date on the terms that you agree to follow all treatment guidelines.

Microdermabrasion Treatment

Microdermabrasion may not be suitable for the following conditions: active cold sores or warts, skin with open wounds, Sunburn, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea, autoimmune disease, use of Accutane within the past year, skin cancer, pregnancy.

PRE TREATMENT PREPARATION

4 WEEKS PRIOR

• Do not have Dermal Filler Injections within 4 weeks of skin treatment

2 WEEKS PRIOR

• Do not have Anti Wrinkle Injections within 2 weeks of skin treatment • No sun exposure 2 weeks prior to treatment
• We cannot treat if you have experienced sunburn, or an over exfoliation of the treatment area 2 weeks prior to your appointment – this includes application of active topical creams
• Do not wax, laser or use depilatory cream over the area 2 weeks either side of your treatment

72 HOURS PRIOR

• Discontinue use of active products 72 hours prior treatment
• No waxing, hair removal treatments 72 hours prior treatment
• No anti-wrinkle or filler facial treatments 72 hours prior to treatment. • No active herpes simplex, prep 72 hours prior treatment with LipSaver Booster or similar antiviral medication if needed
• Use of sun protection and avoid direct sun exposure 72 hours prior to treatment

POST TREATMENT PREPARATION

NEXT DAY POST

• Gently wash any residual product or serum off the face and use recommended post treatment cleanser with soft sweeping movements and gently rinse and pat dry. • Light mineral makeup or BB cream can be applied
• Use minimum 50+sunscreen and avoid direct sunlight

48 HOURS POST

• Skin may be more sensitive post treatment so avoid physical activity, hot showers and saunas directly on treated area for the next 48 hours -72 hours

72 HOURS POST

• Avoid sun exposure 72 hours post treatment

5 DAYS POST

• Avoid active products for 5 - 7 days or as advised by your practitioner • Light mineral makeup or BB cream can be applied
• Trauma such as picking or scratching the treated area must be avoided

Chemical Peel Treatment

Clinical peels may not be suitable for the following conditions: active cold sores or warts, skin with open wounds, Sunburn, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea, autoimmune disease, use of Accutane within the past year, skin cancer, pregnancy.

PRE TREATMENT PREPARATION

• Do not have Anti Wrinkle Injections within 2 weeks of skin treatment • Do not have Dermal Filler Injections within 4 weeks of skin treatment
• No sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
• Do not wax or use depilatory cream within 2 weeks of treatment.
• No laser or peel treatments 2 weeks prior to treatment.
• Stop using Retin-A based products 3 days prior to treatment.
• No active herpes simplex, prep 72 hours prior treatment with LipSaver Booster or similar antiviral medication if needed

POST TREATMENT PREPARATION

NEXT DAY POST

• Can experience anything from light flaking to peeling that resembles sunburn. • No water or moisture exposure for 12 hours after peel treatment. • Light mineral makeup or BB cream can be applied
• Use minimum 30+sunscreen and avoid direct sunlight

48 HOURS POST TREATMENT

• Skin may be more sensitive post treatment so avoid physical activity, hot showers and saunas for the next 48 hours -72 hours • Keep Skin Hydrated

72 HOURS POST

• Avoid direct sun exposure 72 hours post treatment

5 DAYS POST

• Avoid direct sun exposure to the face for at least 3 weeks post treatment to avoid sunburn and increased pigment. • Avoid excessive sweating, exercising, hot saunas or hot showers for 24 hours after treatment. • Avoid waxing or hair removal treatments to the area for 2 weeks after treatment. • Avoid using a hair dryer near the area.
• No harsh exfoliating products for 5 days post treatment
• Do not pick or pull at flaky skin - your products will assist in removing any old skin that is ready to flake off and expose your new skin cells underneath.
