At MizHitch CosMedi Retreat, client safety, clinical hygiene and environmental responsibility are non-negotiable. Every treatment performed within our clinic is supported by strict infection control protocols, government-regulated standards and carefully considered environmental practices.

Regulatory Compliance & Licensing
MizHitch CosMedi Retreat operates in full compliance with:
• Gladstone Regional Council bylaws relating to Personal Appearance Services and Skin Penetration Services
• Queensland Government Infection Control Guidelines for Personal Appearance Services (ISBN 0-7345-2988-0)
Our premises are licensed by Gladstone Regional Council as a Skin Penetration Clinic, and all applicable services are delivered in accordance with council-approved procedures.
All treating therapists hold HLTINF005 – Maintain Infection Prevention for Skin Penetration Treatments, ensuring current, compliant and evidence-based practice at all times.
Clinical Hygiene Standards
Infection control is embedded into every aspect of our clinic operations.
• Hospital-grade and medical-grade disinfectants are used throughout the clinic
• All treatment rooms, surfaces and equipment are cleaned and disinfected between every client
• Staff are trained in correct hygiene protocols, product handling and cross-contamination prevention
• Infection control procedures are reviewed regularly to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice
Single-Use & Sharps Safety
To ensure the highest level of client safety:
• All needles, needle cartridges, lancets and blades are single-use only
• Single-use items are disposed of immediately after treatment
• Approved sharps containers are used within the clinic
• Sharps are collected and disposed of through JJ Richards Sharps Disposal Services, in accordance with regulated medical waste requirements
At no time are sharps reused, modified or stored outside approved containment systems.
Linen, Laundry & Environmental Care
As an additional layer of infection control, MizHitch chooses traditional towelling and bedding over disposable alternatives wherever clinically appropriate.
• All linen and towelling are professionally laundered through Consolidated Linen Service
• Linen is washed to regulated temperatures and standards to ensure thorough sanitisation
• This approach supports both clinical hygiene and environmental sustainability
Where single-use items are required for safety or compliance, they are used responsibly and disposed of correctly.
